Position:
First floor with a unique view of the Piazza Ducale through three large windows.
Size 90 sq. m.
Description:
Wonderful and spectacular large apartment on the noble floor.
Unique setting of great charm characterized by a grandiose coffered ceiling and three wonderful arched windows that offer the definitive, magnificent and scenographic view of the Piazza Ducale.
Apartment to live in complete relaxation and privacy, to recharge and rediscover physical and mental well-being. Also ideal for representative meetings and private meetings and / or business lunches.
Elegantly furnished with attention to detail and contemporary taste; some design pieces and antiques from our family personalize the spaces making them unique, giving a sense of “experience” and transmitting positive energy and serenity. In the living room, you can admire the rare Jumbo bookcase for Poltrona Frau in chromed tubular steel, wood and leather designed by Luigi Massoni (1972), in the anteroom a two-door Piedmontese wardrobe from the first quarter of the 19th century and in the bedroom a beautiful Lombard bureau in walnut from the last quarter of the 19th century.
Let yourself be amazed and enchanted by its warm colors that integrate with the nuances of the frescoes in the square that are all around you. Abandon yourself to the perfect geometries of this Renaissance masterpiece that you can admire from a unique and privileged point of view. The different lights of the hours of the day and the seasons change the colors that the whole gives to the view. From the pebbles of the Ticino river that cover the pavement together with the “Lombard serizzo” stones, to the street lamps of the early twentieth century, to the arches of the porticoes and to the Baroque façade of the Cathedral that frames the scenography, it is a succession of reflections and chromatic shades that are always new and different.
The famous conductor Arturo Toscanini, who loved to visit Vigevano and sit at the tables of the cafes in Piazza Ducale, called it “a musical symphony on four sides”.
Why be satisfied? Treat yourself to a stay in the center of a 530-year-old history.
The drawings that adorn the living room wall are the work of the deaf-mute painter Lorenzo Toma (1798 – 1867) and date back to the time (1818-1823) in which he studied at the Caesarea Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, now the Brera Academy. Exponent of Milanese Neoclassicism, he was a friend of the poet Vincenzo Monti (1754 – 1828) who dedicated a sonnet to him.
Matrigna è ver ti fu natura, o caro
Spirto gentil, negando
A te l’udire ed il parlar; ma quando
Fiso io contemplo il raro
Tuo potente intelletto,
E l’alto core che ti ferve in petto,
Dico: Giusta è natura; e chi ben vede,
Più di quel che ti tolse ella ti diede.
Stepmother is true was nature to you, oh dear
Gentle spirit, denying
To you to hear and speak; but when
Stared I contemplate the rare
Your mighty intellect,
And the high heart that burns in your chest,
I say: Right is nature; and who sees well,
More than what she took from you she gave you.
